CORY AQUINO : The Mother of OUR Democracy

Corazon Cojuangco Aquino, the greatest mother for all Filipinos, a strong advocate of Peace and Democracy, an Icon for women empowerment.

She was the Philippine Republic's 11th President. The David that killed the dictatorship of Marcos in 1986. The widow of the late Senator and hero Senatro Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr.

She was now dead die to cardio-pulmonary arrest after complications of her colon cancer. She was 76 years old.

Now the remains of the beloved former President is being seen at the various locations for public viewing. From La Salle Greenhills Gymnasium to the Manila Catheral where large numbers of Filipino people gather and reminiscing the moments that topple the dictator's regime.

All you can hear are the people's chant of Cory! Cory! Cory! till she was entered the Cathedral's lobby. From the scorching heat of the sun, the Filipinos brave to profess their love and respect for the former president of the Philippines.

Personally, I really admire the sincerity and the humbleness of President Aquino. I don't have any acquaintances nor recollection with her, but a mere advocacies of democracy and willingness to serve the people. I was moved by her death.

My heart is full of sorrow and I have been mourning her untimely death. For I believe she could have done many more things that could benefit the entire nation.

So long President Cory and Many Thanks for this DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM that you have won for us.

A(H1N1) is here in Iloilo City!

A confirmed case of the widely spread Swine Flu or the most infamous A(H1N1) virus is now here in Iloilo City.

A 38 year old seaman was the first victim of the virus in the city. And he is now in the cradle of health care in the Western Visayas Medical Center.

Healh officials said a 38-year-old seaman in Iloilo who had just arrived from Germany tested positive for A (H1N1).

Recently, there are also cases of a positive infected people in the neihgboring city of Bacolod. And they were kids, but health officials said that they were mild. " Now, can some people tell us honestly on what should we felt in times like this?" Mild cases...and don't panic. This is already a pandemic and we are now in the world alert level 6.

But I will agree...because in panicking there is nothing that it could help. But instead, we should be more vigilant in battling this virus. Personal hygiene ladies and gentlemen.

Here are some of my public concern tips:

1. Don't cough all round, especially when you are in the public places.
2. For Christ's sake cover your mouth when you can't hold your coughing or sneeze.
3. If you are not carrying something to cover your mouth, immediately WASH YOUR HANDS. (Tips in your washing your hands, as Health Secretary would suggests: "While washing your hands do it with soap and a running water, and sing 2 happy birthday songs"
4.If you want to discard or excrete something out from your nose...USE A TISSUE and NOT A HANDKERCHIEF.. TISSUE IS DISPOSABLE. Therefore, throw that used tissue immediately in the trash can.
5.Bring some alcohol or hand sanitizers while you are in a journey.
6. Don't panic but be more VIGILANT for your health.

The PROPOSED CHARTER Amendments

Here is the copy that I have found in the Internet, blogs, due to my eagerness to find out what those 172 Tongressmen are having in mind. Basically its a Parliamentary form of Government that they are after obviously. For Gloria will be their Prime Minister. See what kind of filthy hogs are they?

Matrix House Proposed Charter Amendments

JOIN THE CALL AGAINST CON-ASS
No to Conass!

SAY HELL NO TO CHARTER CHANGE

What is the real concept of Con-Ass or the Constituent Assembly?

As the world famous Wikipedia.org will define CON-ASS. Con-Ass" is one of the three modes in which the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines could be amended or revised. The others were People's Initiative and Constitutional Convention.

But why people nowadays wears this necklace made from garlic, and they are not just people but members of the Senate. Why people last June 2, 2009 disturbed while they were asleep, while majority of the politicos are having a party in the fence of Gloria.

It is because of the passage of House Resolution 1109. Here is the copy of that House Resolution numbered 1109. House Resolution No. 1109 House Resolution No. 1109

So yesterday, people from all sector of our beloved society came to designated place of protest. They are now the start of the continued protest of the true majority. Not by this 172 Congressmen living in Gloria's poo of money.

People swarms the city streets of Makati, Davao, Dagupan,Bacolod, Iloilo, Manila, and Cagayan De Oro.

This is for me, the OPNENING SALVO of protest against the "Gloria Regime", "Gloria Forever Scenario". This will continue until the expected last SONA or the State of the Nation Address of Gloria Arroyo on July 27, 2009.

PEPSI 349 Case MUST BE REOPEN

The Scam of the Pepsi 349..? Anyone of you almost forget it?

Well I don't...my mother will never forget it.

Not just because we have that crown caps with those 3 digit winning combination, but because we want justice to prevail.

Not just because of the fortunes that me and my family would get, but because of the struggles of the many people especially those who are poor, who still remains to be poor.

This is the reason why the 7th Magnum blog is now dedicated for this call of reopening the said case.

I am not a lawyer though, but I can express something which in accordance of TRUTH and JUSTICE for the Common Good.

News indicates that the case is close....But I and the others who are still hoping for the continuity of this case will stand our grounds for this simple cause of giving us not only the favor of giving us 500 pesos...or the amount of the prize money..But tell us the TRUTH...

I am an avid fan of PEPSI...especially of the PEPSI MAX...but now I will call on the people who are in the side of JUSTICE AND TRUTH...DO NOT PATRONIZE PEPSI AND OTHER PRODUCTS and even their promotions which may still lead to another scam, scandal.

I will call on again to NOW PATRONIZE if they are willing to explain to media, to the people, who are holders of the winning caps, to the next generation of other cap holders (for some maybe because of the real holders are now six-feet below the ground and still hoping for the prize money) ON HOW DID THEY TURN THEIR BACK TO US...THEY BETRAYED US....

THE ALEC BALDWIN's APOLOGY

"I'd like to offer an apology and a clarification to remarks I made recently.

While on the David Letterman program, I joked that I might need a "mail-order bride" to achieve the goal of having more children in my life. I believe that most people understood that this was a joke and took it as such. (A dated reference, no doubt, and another sign of my advancing age.) However, I do apologize to anyone who took offense. The comments of some Philippine government officials come as no surprise to me, either. Even the one by a former action film star-turned-Senator who beckoned me to come to the Philippines so he could "beat" me over my comment.

Such anger and frustration about the issue of sex trafficking is understandable. The Philippines has suffered significant problems with the issue of sex trafficking and I would like to turn your attention to the work of an organization called Love146 that my brother Stephen educated me about. Visit their website at www.love146.org and learn of the important work that is being done, in various regions of the world, by Rob Morris and his co-founders and staff.

I had met with Rob in New York, some months before the Letterman appearance, in the hopes of helping him raise money for this group. Again, I apologize for the perceived insensitivity of that remark and ask you to visit the Love146 site."

Red Cross Hostages Beheading Set

Abu Sayyaf Group Al Qeada linked extremist / terrorist is now ready to behead their captives as the ultimatum expires this day.

Abu Sayyaf commander Albader Parad threatened to behead one of the three Red Cross hostages _ who include a Swiss, an Italian and a Filipino _ at 2 p.m. Tuesday (0600 GMT) unless police and militiamen withdraw from 15 villages on Jolo Island within 24 hours, Interior Secretary Ronaldo Puno said.

"Their demands as of last night are physically impossible to comply with by anybody," Puno said at a news conference, adding they will continue to find ways to save the hostages "up to the last minute."

As recalled the extremist wants the Philippine Forces to withdraw its men from said locations of the hilly mountains of Indanan in Sulu. And now they want a total pullout of all military in the village.

Charter Change or your PDAF or even your SARO

Desperate tactics are now in the midst to have the Charter change (Cha-cha) pushed through via Constituent Assembly or Con-ass to ensure her (PGMA) of continued stay in the top political office of the land, President Arroyo believed has blessed the bribe amounting to P1 billion in congressional projects — to cover soft and hard components of their pork barrel plus cold cash of a million pesos each — in exchange for their “irreversible” vote for changes in the Constitution to usher in term extensions for all elective officials on a hold-over capacity, in preparation for a parliamentary system, opening the door for Mrs. Arroyo to run as a member of parliament.

As if the the Arroyo couple is now moving heaven and earth just to make the push for Charter Change. By withholding the SARO or the Special Allotment Release Orders (not contented of not giving the pork to those representative who really needs the money). This allegations is being confirmed by the DBM or the Department of Budget and Management through the Philippine Daily Tribune.

It is been said the "too many congressmen are not happy with the Palace's handling the situation." "and it is indeed pressuring the top leadership of the House of Representatives (Nograles) in a speedy approval of the House Resoultion in convening the Con Ass or the Constituent Assembly. Nograles actually says he is not a "lapdog" to the Palace or to GMA or even to the Arroyo's but he is an ALLY.

I HOPE THIS TRUE..."ALLIES RESPECTS EACH OTHER".

I think HR #737 will be tackled this April 13 as the House goes back in session. Therefore we must act in vigilance to protect our democracy and freedom.

The still unnumbered resolution needs only 22 more congressional endorsements to reach 197 supporters from Congress which comprises the three fourths votes passed the HR and to amend the Constitution.

I really smell something wrong here...if this House Resolution is passed by the House of Representatives via 3/4 vote then there will be A NO-EL Scenario.

This might be a Nightmare for SOME

Cesar Mancao, Michael Ray Aquino and Glenn Dumlao are former policemen of our country right? Just like the released assailant of former Senator Ninoy Aquino. And let me just tell you this, THE case of Dacer-Corbito is just another double murder case that will be left unclosed and denied of justice until this men came to the Philippines unharmed and alive, then reveals the names who are accountable and testify in court proceedings.

Another "Aquino-Galman" in the making ladies and gents. People who are still in power and still with influence can manipulate the system. So go to hell! you know who you are.

Justice Secretary Raul M. Gonzalez says and I quote "Mancao was concerned about his security if and when he returns to the Philippines to testify on the murders of publicist Salvador “Bubby” Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito in 2000." and "Mancao wanted to serve as state witness in the case and be cleared of all charges."

See, why did Cesar Mancao is afraid to testify in this heinous crime? It is because BIG MEN in Philippine Politics wants to eradicate this BIG MOUTHED son of a gun. Maybe, he is under the "brothers' keepers code" of their society of some kind.

Good luck to my country then.

Presidentiables for 2010 Election

Here is my independent and analytic opinion on the Presidentiables for the upcoming automated elections next year.

Intentions are now clear and they have paved the way for an expected hot election climate by December this year. As we approached the "D-Day" let us collaborate some issues for each of this "future presidents alike".

Let us Start with Francis "Chiz" Escudero. The young and the "voice of the nation" as his campaign slogan speaks. Well what can we say, he has done the Philippines become more oppositionist against this Arroyo-Regime. He is the one makes me angry with this administration and I hope that I am not the only one.

Manuel "Manny" Villar The "Mister Sipag at Tiyaga". Former Senate President ousted by his friends in the Upper House. Like Julius Ceasar hmmm... His strong diplomatic appraoch in the Senate leads to his loss of that power to govern but let us face that scenario. It is given that politics tends that to happen.

Manuel "Mar" Roxas....Bayani Fernando....Noli DeCastro.....and there is ERAP anew and even Chief Justice Puno...and El Shaddai Leader Mike Velarde....

Only people can tell...not by mere surveys and opinions. It is the people's choice.

2010 automated polls budget updates

The House of Representatives voted in favor of the P11.3-billion supplemental budget on third reading Tuesday night, the House of Representatives is eyeing the approval of either one of two "companion bills" that will likely determine how the 2010 elections will be conducted.

HB 5715, the measure allocating an P11.3-billion supplemental budget for election automation, was approved Monday night with 193 affirmatives votes, one negative vote, and one abstention.

Now its the Philippine Senate will have to approved this supplemental budget for the COMELEC to start their work.

2010 Automated polls in GREAT Peril

The Commission on Elections may have to abandon its plan to fully automate the 2010 elections because of Congress’ delay in passing the P11.3-billion automation budget has compromised election preparations, according to Comelec Chair Jose Melo.

“We are really pressed for time. We are toying with the idea that it won’t be full capacity. Maybe we will automate 50 percent, not nationwide,” he said.

What is wrong really with the automated polls this coming national and local elections this coming year of 2010? Are the congressmen afraid that there will be no fraud in their districts?

The Congress should act upon this calling of not only the COMELEC but of the Filipino people as well. They only have 3 days do so or the election in our country will be as traditional as ever "manually" full of frauds.

An Invisible Threat

The proposed bill of "Right of Reply" by both houses of Congress is a clear threat poses against the Media.

I am not a media personnel but, I can rely on media rather than the government today and for the future maybe. This proposed bill of Right of Reply can dictate the media outlets such as: radio, newspaper, television and maybe here in the web to have a space for "their" reply on the issue.

In a free society you cannot dictate the media of such acts.

Discussion continued in The Political Agenda.

Risa Hontiveros-Baraquel announces her bid

That's right the good-looking and brave solon of the Prty-List Akbayan has announced her plans to run for senator this 2010 national elections.

In a press conference, Hontiveros said she has decided with her party-list to "take a calculated risk" in 2010 to help usher in a new brand of politics.

"We are running for the Senate in 2010," said Hontiveros, who began her career as a legislator during the 13th Congress.

The lawmaker said she first made her announcement during her birthday dinner last Monday night. Among those who attended were Akbayan members, Liberal Party members, and Senators Manuel Villar and Alan Peter Cayetano.

With this...Belated Happy Birthday to you madame.

Please I hope there soon to be more candidates-to-be from the roster of the Opposition.

Philippine veterans awaits the package

Our dear Philippine veterans from World War II awaits the benefits of being pensioners as the stimulus act of the United States is being approved.

It was said that in the Obama administration "no one should be left behind". He indeed stood up in his promise, by signing the economic stimulus bill ($787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) thus making it a law. Tucked in the legislation is a provision appropriating $198 million for the Filipino veterans who fought alongside the U.S. forces during the WWII. This act could pay the long-overdue debt to the Philippine war veterans of the second world war.

They were promised payments in fighting against Japanese but never were paid. A blessing indeed for the remaining 18,000 survivors who really needs the money here and overseas.

With the bill signed, how soon can we see the release of these benefits?
Ret. Major Gen. Delfin Lorenzana, head of the Veterans Affairs office of the Philippine Embassy said: “It takes about 90 days for them to set up the mechanism. The target is to start immediately so they can start processing the papers immediately. They expect, maybe an estimate within three months there will be some benefits.”
